Congrats on figuring out what happened and getting the amp up and running.
Thanks for the perspective. Its been an interesting and educational journey. I loved most every minute of it. The help I've received has been very valuable to me. I'm obliged.
Trying out a resistor to lower the voltage might be interesting. My concern is the tone and character of the amp.
Concerning the popping I get when I tap the chassis - that's my next issue. I want to try to find out the cause. It'll probably be a week before I get my tubes back, and then I'll begin to run that down. It leaves me time to do some research.
Thanks for your advice and links to those great articles. I'm learning a lot here.
