What does the "monkey on a stick" refer to?.
The name references the pickup and mount’s resemblance to the old mechanical monkey-on-stick toy.
It’s just a nickname for the sliding DeArmond pickup.
I’ve heard them referred to as “monkey on a stick” for decades.
The pickup slides on the mount for optimum sonic performance/tone variations.
