Odd little music history...
The Mynah Birds - L-R, John Goadsby (aka Goldie McJohn), Bruce Palmer, Richie Grand, Ricky James Matthews, Jimmy Livingston and Frank Iozzo (aka Frank Arnel).
You may remember Bruce Palmer from the Buffalo Springfield. You may also remember Ricky James Matthews as Rick James (the Superfreak himself). Frank Arnel was replaced by one Neil Young, and they were subsequently signed to Motown Records. Rick James was AWOL from the Navy, so when he returned to the states from Canada he was picked up by the MPs. Ending the Mynah Birds. Bruce and Neil drove out to LA. I couldn't find a picture with Neil, but they did record an album for Motown that was never released.
Goldy McJohn went on to join the Sparrows, who hired up the German singer - John Kay - and became Steppenwolf.
