One of my greatest fears was recently realized. I knew the day would come, and it finally happened.....I dropped my first accidental F-bomb while teaching a guitar lesson, lol. To be fair, the kid has intense behavioral issues. I’ll just say that. The experience got me thinking though, I need some curse alternatives, lol. I mean like....goofy, kid-friendly ones. Here is what I’ve come up with so far:

    “Alder dust!”

“Great Gravy!” - from Monty Python

“Odin’s Raven!” - from Ron Burgandy

    “Crocadile Dundee!”

    “Shor’s Bones!” - from Skyrim

    “Drats and drizzle!”

“Yahoo and Gadzooks!” - from Al Bundy

    “That really knurls my knobs!”

    “Sweet Home Alabama!”

    “Great Grackles!”

    “Monopoly Man’s Mustache!”

    “Betty Crocker!”

    “Chicken and Biscuits!”

    All other suggestions welcome.

I can't help there, if cursing fails to relive the frustration I usually escalate to flipping the bird or a smack upside the head.

Instead of swearing in front of us kids, my Dad (from Yorkshire, England) used to say either:

-"Damn, damn adn double damn!" or

-"Hell's Bells and little fishes!"

Kids at my school came from a variety of social backgrounds and the language in the playgrounds / football and rugby fields (and outside of school) could be very colourful, to say the least.

I think most kids, these days, will already know and use some pretty choice language but I can fully-appreciate you wanting not to be accused of being verbally abusive.

Dependent upon how and when you might want to use it, one option to show real exasperation following bad behaviour is to just stare, silently. My dad used to do that and I knew I'd done something bad / wrong. It was up to me to apologise or speak first.

If it's just a repeated error and you need to show your frustration, you seem to have most of the bases covered.

FWIW, the Ron Burgundy and Monty Python options are my favourites.

The dubbed-for-TV version of any movie with Samuel L. Jackson should be a goldmine of ideas, you Maryland farmers.
