Nice ! Want one of those at least to chase the chickens back on my yard , they're driving me crazy ...!
Would be a great platform for upgrades in many ways . Perhaps it could hack my neighbour's wlan , pick up the newspaper , walk the dog .....

There are experiments and exercises that do demonstrate autonomous robots are closer to becoming a thing.

They probably just video the crime to identify the perp so money can exchange hands through the legal system later.

More likely that they are mining data than fighting crime.

We need robocops. All actions would be based only on law and department policy by programming. These guys will have them when they finish taking over and keep you in line!

Robots are all around us more and more and all the time. They don't like like most thought they would. They route your phone calls, make your driving safer, do payment processing, read snail mail and much more.

We're close to the auto industry's self-imposed AEB standard so really soon everyone's new car will have bots doing important stuff whether or not they want it.

Sadly, looking at my Saturday task list I don't see how robots can help me with a lot of that.

There's one that cruises the aisles of the local Giant supermarket. It has a sign on it saying it's looking for spills and stuff for our safety (I followed it around reading the little sign), but...it could be doing a lot of things.
