    Looks like some kind of paint powder being kept wet so it bleeds into a type of sunburst? Eager to see the results.

    if i would have gone this route i would try to use a steam iron, blast steam through the towell.
    (but first on a piece of scrap of course)

    but i like this finnish a lot

    There's a small time guitar builder in my corner of the world, who builds mainly for the metal crowd. Rustic finishes are standard. Level of battering is a customer option....
