I have my favorite, but the builder and I have been debating a bit on what color faceplate would work best on my white amp head with navy racing stripe. I thought I'd put the mighty and all encompassing wisdom of the TDPRI to the task and post a poll.

So which is is, Teeds? White, Gold, or Black? Thanks!!

But only if it matches the stripe.

    Of the options, black.

Not an option with the builder unfortunately. Would be interesting though.

Of your choices - white. I can read the white from here - the black and gold, not so much.

Perhaps engine-turned aluminum? You know - racing...

Just to be fair, the black and gold suffered at my amateurish photoshop hands, whereas the white is an actual photo of the amp, so the black and gold may be unnaturally skewed. Lol

The turned aluminum is a cool idea. That’s kind of what the gold is getting at for me.

The comments here already have given me an idea, thanks!

What about a white faceplate with blue knobs the color of the stripe (or close) with white position indicators?

White is the new black. And gold is so 1970s.

Late 60’s actually...1968 to be exact. The amp is an homage to my favorite Detroit muscle.

These are kind of cool too, the aluminum caps continue the racing vibe. Pedal knobs though, but has a set screw so shouldn’t really matter.

That’s my original vote and what the builder and I debated on. The amp itself is going to be totally hot rodded from the builder, just like the Shelby GT500 was, and the gold is meant to be a nod to the amp’s Marshall roots.

if it is yours then it is your decision not the builders. i chose black to give it contrast. white on white don't get it and gold is faux!
edit: black with white knobs is the way i'd go. black on black don't get it.

Gold is always my kneejerk preference, but I'm having second thoughts 'cause the black one in the rendering looks pretty classy.

Of course, but I don’t build amps for a living, so I take his experience and expertise into account when he says he’s not sure the white/blue with a gold faceplate would work. And then I do a shoddy photoshop mock up to prove him wrong :lol:
