It always looks like this. What can be done? Trim the edges and get a cover maybe? It’s really annoying.

See if you can get a piece of level and fairly stiff foam rubber under it that puts it slightly higher then you want and then tighten it down.

A cover might help. It seems you need better springs. Bigger springs or surgical tubing will sometimes solve that.

Support your local business friends. Problem solved for 2€. I had to cut the edges quite a bit. Like trimming really thick toenails. Thanks for the little musicshop around the corner.

I actually went one step further and cut a piece of foam into a wedge shape with a razor blade for a guitar that I no longer have.
