Anybody have any info on these? A friend of mine has a few that she got from a Pretenders Concert, a few years back, an she asked if I knew anything about them, and to my surprise, google has NOTHING on them, besides 2 or 3 posts from some other guitar forum about great they are!

Her's have "Scotty's" on the front, with a picture of... Something... Above it, and USA Medium on the back. They are Orange, and made of nylon. It's killing me that I haven't found any relevant info on them! Someone help me out?

Hi. Did you ever have any luck regarding your post about Scotty's Guitar picks back in 2009? I have used one exclusively for probably about 30 years (most of my careers as a guitarist) and it suits me better than any other I've ever tried. Trouble is that it is now getting rather old and worn and his developing a split and I need to replace it - but can't find one like it anywhere.
Mine is red and has USA Nylon Light written on the back.
By the way, the picture of ... Something ... is actually a reclining Scotsman wearing the Scot's national dress.
All the best
Richard (England)

Hi. I'm the same guy that answered your post on here about 10 years ago - I've had to re-register on here as I had been off the forum so long that they had lost me. Anyway, thought you might like to know that - incredibly - I have just got a new (well, second hand, but in usable condition) genuine Red Scotty's Pick !! Apparently several years ago I had left a wish list on Ebay asking for them and suddenly one came up, here in England..... so I treated myself to it as a Christmas resent. I play very little R & R lead guitar nowadays, but it was great to try it out and feel the same touch again. I play mostly bass and folk guitar nowadays. Hope all is good with you and that your search has been good too. Also, I did recently get a lot of useful information about them from someone else who found me on here - I'll forward it to you if you want. Cheers. Richard

Hi Richard, I'm interested in getting authentic Scotty's picks. I like the yellow ones (USA Nylon Heavy Scotty's), but I'd also like to try other Scotty picks. Please forward any useful information you mention about them. Best regards, Txerra

Hi Txerra. All I can say is that I left a note saying I wanted one on my "wanted" list on a well known Internet auction site... And nearly 10 years later I was told someone was selling one - and I got it! Good luck. Richard

I thought Plektren might be a material in German but it is just the word "picks"

Bingo!

Well, not exactly "bingo!" but it's a reference point.

Eppo from ChickenPicks.com pointed out that Dunlop still makes the Scotty's pick holder so they probably bought the Scotty's pick business. Maybe there is a Dunlop pick product that is an equivalent, maybe not, but Eppo also pointed out that his Regular 2.6mm pick might make a former Scotty's user very happy.

Find them at Amazon, Chicago Music Ex. , etc.

It's official, response from Dunlop 😵

Thank you for your message!

We discontinued the Scotty’s picks many years ago.

We can suggest the 443R67 Nylon Midi pick as they are close to the Scotty’s picks.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
