Any Scotty Anderson fans on here? I never hear him really discussed but I really dig his playing. To me he sounds like a cross between Jimmy Bryant, Chet Atkins, and Johnny Smith.

Yeah, he's amazing. I don't know if you call it Country or Jazz or whatever, but the stuff he does shouldn't be humanly possible!

I know Scotty fairly well and yes I am a fan and yes he is incredible. He and my best friend's Uncle play together here locally every week. I haven't been to see them in awhile but it's pretty sickening. You will never meet a more humble guy when it comes to Scotty and his playing. Great guy all around.

Btw, my friend just posted a video of the two of them playing together on his Facebook page this morning. I didn't get a chance to watch it but I'll check it out and post it if it's something cool.

I have one of his instruction videos that I bought without knowing much about him. Amazing stuff. I was a convert. I'm surprised that some big name band hasn't snatched him up, but maybe he's happy doing what he's doing.

Yay! I love Scotty threads!

Yes, there are fans here on this forum. Not enough, maybe. "Plays Chet better than Chet", as someone said.

If someone would go by his house & show him this forum on their laptop etc., he might like it. I believe that Scotty is a computer-phobe. There are some out there like that; my brother is 48 & has never owned a computer.

Lol. He loves guitar and Miller Lite. If you ever wanna get on his good side, though I've never seen a bad one, buy him a Miller Lite. My best friend took lessons from him for awhile. Totally not fair. Oh, and he didn't wanna get snatched up. He's very content doing what he wants to do.

I'm ashamed to say that for as long as I have lived in the Cincy area, I have only seen him live once. But damn! An amazing talent indeed.

Scotty is a very scary guitarist from what I've seen in the YouTube clips. Simply wonderful. I'm hoping he'll do an album of jazz standards some day.

+1. If Scotty did an album of jazz standards, there would be a whole bunch of us jazz guitar geeks lining up to buy it... And I'm sure we'd be willing to throw in a few Miller Lights for good measure!

I got stuck in Cincy over a weekend last fall, on a business trip gone wrong. I friend in the know told me, while you;re in Cincy, you have to see Scotty Anderson. Though his online presence is truly meager, I was able to determine where he was playing and went to see him in person, and had a chance to schmooze in between sets. Scotty's monster player and a heckuva nice guy.

Scotty is one of the guys that is a cut above everybody else. He has that extra gear that puts him in the stratosphere. Jimmy Bryant, Ted Greene, Scotty, and not too many others.
