I just stumbled on this model and I'm wondering if anyone here has tried one yet?
I had one a few years ago.
They’re perfectly good guitars.
Thanks Brookdalebill. My only experience with Schecter was a 7 string that I got for my son some time ago. While I did not spend a lot of time on it (still trying to figure out 6 strings), it did seem like a decent buy for the money. I don't remember the country of origin and I'm hoping that it looks as nice as does in the ads.
Schecter makes some pretty good guitars. They tend to fly under the radar, especially with people who only know their metal/shred-oriented guitars, but they make some cool retro-inspired designs, too.
The PT Special is essentially a Tele with a P90 at the bridge, something similar to the Aerodyne Tele availble back in the 2000's. I'm still trying to talk myself into it. $599 seems reasonable enough.
Thats the only model they continued from the legendary founding Company in Van Nuys, California. It's the Pete Townsend Model which was played by him in the beginning 80, when he took down the Gibson LP Deluxe.
