I'm in love with more than my wife and kids. My Santa Cruz OMS - I didn't think an acoustic guitar could play with such ease and kick out so much tone on a size or per pound basis.

Wow, I'm surprised by just two members of the SCGC club. Santa Cruz is a very small company but they've been at it for decades. Show us your Santa Cruz.

:)

I'd love to join this club.
Santa Cruz are the most consistently good sounding new guitars, IMO.
Maybe in 2011!

I want to join, but I'm a little short this month!

But if I was going to qualify, it would be because of this little mahogany 00 1929 I was recently fondling at a store near me.

Wow, surprised so few members after all this time. My Santa Cruz didn't cost much more than a Martin and stopped GAS, got me to sell other guitars - a price well worth it!

The passion for playing and hearing my Santa Cruz has never diminished and I can't say that for most guitars.

Pretty expensive guitar...I'm sure it's worth it but it may be prohibitive to some.

One of the best acoustics I ever laid my hand on was a Santa Cruz 12 fret slope shoulder slot head dreadnaught. The most beautiful articulate huge sounding dread I ever heard. I'm still thinking of selling my Les Paul and getting one of these.

I am in with a 91 OM with the Scgc logo at twelfth fret. Took me fifteen years to get one but they are as good as anything I have ever played! I put Waverlys on it just to max it out. Richard Hoover is a master loves what he does and his team is top notch! I will have to do some photos when I get home.

Pics please?

BTW: The new logo looks especially nice on the non-square head stocks!

Hey Thanks! Just a quick snapshot, the pick guard was added later by the amazing Dan Roberts, which shouldn't be a bad thing if I had to re-sell. He was in the shop when the guitar was made. The finish is worn off the parts of the neck and it is getting some good finish cracks. The top was voiced by Henrik Bridger. I would love to get one done by Joseph King someday.

Your short scale OM is pretty! What year?

This is a nice find, didn't think there was an SCGC owner's club. That the club includes two former employees (I'm one, 1990-1995, finish guy, replaced Fred Latta, not that anyone could "replace" him as he is awesome) is a bit disconcerting.

000 12-fret for life. You guys should have seen the guitar we modeled it from. Not quite the most expensive guitar that came through the shop while I was there but close.

Too fun! There are a lot of ex-SCGC employees, it's bound to happen!:)
It was fun to see the guitars that came through. Your era at the shop was Golden. In the hut on Ingalls! I went through a bunch of photos when I was there, I bet you were in one of them. Nice to meet you!

Wow, still a surprisingly small club, but SCGC is also a very small company.

My SCGC guitar is still a GAS killer. I don't know how you can explain the magic with a keyboard but this video is a pretty good view of Richard and the company.

Stuff he says around 3 min in is probably the secret sauce for the top builders. It's neat to know about the wood stash and sources too.

I just joined the club this weekend by getting this Vintage Jumbo at Chicago Music exchange, I'm thinking of getting it a new HSC...regular dreadnaught size ok?

Nice! Enjoy it in good health.

I suggest a call to SCGC to be sure about the right case.
