    Hi all,

I stumbled across these videos on YouTube. They do funk versions of popular songs. Different line up of people on every song, the Keyboardist and possibly the bassist seem to be the only constant.

Really fun, I'm linking one video but you really can't go wrong with any of the others.

I thought it would be good to share.

THAT is the kind of busking I would like to do. You know, like if I could play.

I don't think they are buskers. It is kind of pointless to busk in the streets when you are playing with 15 people.;)

I may not be making some distinction on what constitutes busking. But if I was going to be out on the street playing, I would like to be doing it with them. That was cool.

Does busking imply “playing for tips,” as opposed to “playing on the street?”

I don't know about busking but I like these players even when they play inside.

I don't know, in my mind busking is playing for tips. Otherwise it is just playing in the street. But i might be wrong.

Keyboard player is Jack Conte. Also in Pomplamoose, with his wife, Nataly Dawn. Another very fun project, I highly recommend checking them out. They do all kinds of stuff, though they trend pop. I picked these two to post only because I like the first one a lot, and the second one has some really creative visuals:

Jack also happens to be the CEO and co-founder of Patreon. Along with the obvious "fun factor" of these videos, that probably goes a long way towards explaining how he's able to get all those incredible musicians together. He's helped create another way for artists to monetize their content. That's gotta be worth a lot, especially these days.
