Good morning everyone....

A couple months back the phrase "save us" came to me.
Figured I could come up with a subject to reflect the imagery of the phrase.
This is the end result.
Thanks to Ken for his contribution and stellar musicianship.
BIAB: Drums/Bass/Keyboard
Ken Lasaine: guitars
Lyrics/music: Me

Many thanks to anyone who gives it spin and hope you found it worthy of your time.
Have a great weekend.

Lyrics....Key is Bm @ 110 bpm
Intro: Bm7////
Verse 1: So many people, rush and hustle, trying to reserve their seat. Names and faces, goodbye embraces and off to follow a dream.
Bm7////
Save us. Save us.

Verse 2: Engines wailing and people waving, a last look back at the shore. The maiden voyage should be joyous, with seven days to port of New York.

Chorus: Save us….from icy northern seas. Help us please. Bm7////
Save us….save us
Verse 3: The Californian, sent out the warning, the Phillips response was so flip. Approaching midnight, no shining moonlight. His words will sink the mightiest ship.

Chorus:

Save us….from icy northern seas. Help us please.

Lead break: verse Leak break: chorus
Bm7////
Save us. Save us.

Verse 4: Crows’ nest is reeling, now they can see it, but it was far too late. A berg is waiting, lives will be shaken and everyone will face their fate.

Chorus:
Save us….from icy northern seas. Help us please.
Bm7////
Save us….save us

Outro: Bm7//// ////

Mornin' 48....

I'm not understanding that comment....or I haven't had enough coffee. :)

Cool...new snare head just waiting to be employed by your next song. :)

Later....

Mornin' Rene....

Thank you very much for checking it out and the generous comments.
It was a challenge to put that event into a quite abbreviated 3:20 song.
But....I was just stubborn enough to try it.
Ken's great to work with.

Thanks again....

I didn't realize it wasn't a kit. Can you choose the snare on BIAB? I didn't know what that was til someone splained it to me. The snare sounds like a piccolo snare to me.

Howdy 48....
Hmmm....
It is "a kit" iwithin the BIAB program.
Don't know why it sounds like a piccolo (or even know what a piccolo snare is) and you're the first that has perceived it that way.

In BIAB...when you are using a 'style' provided one has options to regenerate that style which can produce different, but sometimes subtle, changes in the sounds or rhythm of the instruments.
I don't think one can actually choose a specific snare sound within the 'style' one is using.
My best guess is that when you export your .wav files from BIAB you can import them into your DAW and process as you see fit.
NOTE: what you are hearing are actual recorded wave files by great musicians....not programmed MIDI tracks.
I'd recommend this program to any that do what we like to do.

Sorry if that doesn't answer as you desired but BIAB is a very deep, yet quite stunning program to employ.
I still consider myself a neophyte when it comes to using this program.
I mainly use it for the bottom end (trap set/bass) and a keyboard rhythm bed.

Hope that helps....

here you go:

as u can imagine by looking at them, they're all about the attack and crack. cuts through a heavy mix. not much audible low end or sustain.

maybe my original spelling is what threw u. piccolo, not piccilo.
Got it.
I hadn't heard the term....and I started out playing drums in bands before guitar. Duh!
I'll see if BIAB describes the snare.
Thanks for clarification.
