Just recently bought my first Tele - a MIM model with a blue burst finish I paid $700 plus tax for brand new from GC.

So far I've added Schaller strap locks and d'Addorio 11 pure nickel strings and brass saddles. Genuine Fender locking tuners and a roller string tree are on order.

No other mods are planned until I learn to play the bloody thing. New Telecaster 2 MIM.png

PS that's my 2015 SG in the background. Amp is a Marshall Origin 50 combo.

Sure is shiny. I feel sorry for the SG, shoved off to the side like that. All broken hearted, dumped for a prettier, newer, younger guitar.

Hello, welcome. Sweet blue Tele...and a red SG (I have a red SG). And so it begins...more guitars, more amps. Enjoy!

    Welcome

I'd put a creme or mint guard on there, but that's me

congrats and welcome. I wasn't seeing much of a reason for a sarcasm warning, but sarcasm is sometimes hard to detect. Maybe I'm out of practice.

Oh she still gets her outings. The SG has way more crunch due to the higher output Humbuckers.

I'm 54 so my musical tastes and influences aren't so much "classic" as "ancient".

Remind me not to ask you to help decorate my house... :)

...only in your 50's? Most people in that age group wouldn't recognize "ancient" if it bit them in their sitting muscles...you must have some good taste genes...

You need a paisley Tele to go with that ottoman. I just (re)joined today and my main amp is a Marshall Origin 50 Combo. What a coincidence! Welcome.

I'm usually someone who doesn't much care how a guitar looks and all that.

But dang, your guitar is really really cool!

    Congratulations and welcome!

My paternal grandfather worked for the BBC from 1936 to 1968 and sat in on recording sessions of most of the "popular beat combos" of the 60s. He used to sneak the standby or spare copies of the session tapes home for my dad, but unfortunately my mum threw them out with the trash during a house move.
