In the aftermath of the fire these three amps fared the "best". I'm going to dig them out and put um in the chicken coop for now. The Super looks pretty toasted and maybe the chassis can be reused. Hopefully the Deluxe and Princeton faired a little better. But if all I can reuse it the chassis at least that be something. The amps in the house are scrap metal just burnt speaker frames and chassis all warped sitting in the charcoal.
Kinda funny now, I actually went into the burning house to save some amps. Got out two 62 Reverberockets, a Marshall Slash head, Hiwatt 4x12 cab, a 1987 Marshall in the tweed cab I build, a 65 Twin Reverb and a 76 Twin Reverb.
What kind of idiot goes into a burning building for a 76 Twin Reverb? That's the funny part.

That’s sad and devastating. At least you’re ok and were able to save some of your stuff.

Damn dude. I'm so sorry. But you have your most precious thing, your life, and everything else is just accumulated stuff.

When my home burned, I was away. The only person home was my son, who was 13 at the time. I don't even want to imagine what might have happened if he hadn't made it out. He saved the dog, too.

You will come back from this.

I'm sorry for your loss, but don't sweat "the stuff." What matters is the safety of you and your family.

So sad to hear this but glad your safe. If you get down to the cities some time you can come on over play some amps and I will make you some grits.
    Good luck John

    .

The 'alligator hide' charred wood surfaces show there was excessive and extended heat in that location.

The metal chassis of the amps might be able to be cleaned and reused but probably annealed by the heat where everything will be floppy and unstable. Same with the speaker shells, might be able to rebuild but the magnets got hot, warped space for the coil clearance, magnetic strength may have changed, other metal is softened. All the amp internal components will be burned/melted/gone, transformers will be toasted and shorted internally with no wire insulation left.

Certainly, you may be curious to unscrew the amp chassis from the cases or pry the case top off just to look out of curiosity.

Sorry to hear about your stuff. Very glad you're okay. We've had more than our share of fire where I live, so far, scary stuff. The fact that you still have a sense of humor about it, is a GOOD thing !!

That is so sad to see. I'm glad you and your daughter are ok. It takes a long time to get over that. We're heading up to the cabin next week (Emily-Outing area). If you want to get together for coffee, let me know. I hope your insurance covers everything for you.
