Some of the Reasons I Cheat by Randy Travis. A great country song.
My grandfather passed away in 2014. I can't hear this song without thinking of him. It's one of those bittersweet things.
Or THIS one!!!
this was released in 88, but I seem to remember it getting played in the dance halls well into the early 90's
Vern Gosdin was mentioned earlier, another late 80's masterpiece. Vern was known as "the voice"
did this not get posted yet? or did I miss it
Vince Gill: Nobody Answers (When I call Your Name). When Patty Loveless comes in on the harmony it STILL gives me goose bumps.
From about 1986 to 1996 was an awesome period for country music. We had Dwight, and Randy, followed by Vince, Martina, Travis and Marty,Garth, Clint, Alan, Reba, George, and so many more great acts. So, many good singers and well written songs with fiddle and steel guitar. It really was a special period of country music.
Kris Kristoffersons "Jody And The Kid"
Sawyer Brown "The Walk".

Mine died about 4 months before the song came out, so I am right there with ya.
