If any of you saw it, this doesn't look good. Flipped upside down on the last lap while in the lead, then was slammed into to, I believe on the driver side, as he was upside down. They put large black screens up to hide him being removed from the car. If you're the praying kind, maybe offer him a prayer. He has two young daughters.

When I saw the hit while he was upside down I started to wonder if he made it. I was in a conference text with my friends and we all stopped to say a word. No news yet. Ryan Blaney has an awful scared and miserable look on his face. I feel sorry for him too.

I saw it. And I felt like I’d seen it before. It appeared that Joe Gibbs was headed straight to Newman’s pit stall and NOT to Victory Lane. Abrupt end to broadcast. Newman placed in an ambulance out of sight from spectators/cameras. Media asked to leave the garage area. Not good at all.

Just saw a video on twitter of them doing CPR as he was being taken to the ambulance.

I just read this and found the footage. I know the safety features in these cars but that may very well be the worst NASCAR wreck I’ve ever seen
I don’t follow NASCAR but I hope the driver is going to be ok. Positive thoughts to him and hid family

I’m not a NASCAR watcher. I saw the video of the wreck. The “winner” of the race crashed him on purpose, is that legal? He may have killed a guy for a win?

Me too. Just saw the replay. Direct hit in the most critical and still vulnerable areas. Doesnt look good.
This is exactly what I was talking about yesterday. "Freightraining" "pushing" and "blocking" like they do in theses situations, and the resulting 20 car collisions is not racing to me. All the result of what the current rules have evolved into. IE: spec'd cars and restrictor plates, etc.
I truly hope this isnt the disaster it appears to be. Makes me feel sick.

I am a long time NASCAR fan. I saw the race as it occurred on TV. The winner was Denny Hamlin. He did not crash Ryan Newman. While I am not a Denny Hamlin fan I just wanted to set the record straight from my point of view.

If you are a religious person please pray for Ryan Newman and his family.

    Peace,
    Jim

The winner of the race was in the white FedEx 11. The car that bumped Newman in the 6 was the blue and yellow 12. That was not the winner.

There are already conflicting reports of how he left the track. They are completely opposite of each other. I do know he entered a Trauma Bay at Halifax Health. Let's wait until official news comes out.

No, he did not. Denny Hamlin (#11) was to the outside of Ryan and never touched him as he went on to win.

There is a report on Twitter (I know, I know...) that Newman was rushed into trauma at Halifax Health about an hour ago.

Two very hard hits first nearly head-on into the wall and then hit by the other driver. Blaney was trying to push another Ford to the finish Newman was was blocking. Both were doing what is required to win under the stupid restraints Nascar has put on the cars. I hate plate racing. Do what they have to do , reduce engine size , gear the cars down to lower the speeds. Give the drivers back some throttle response so they can get away from one another. The way it is if you lift the throttle you lose 15 places plate racing is insane.

Relax! I told you I don’t know what the heck I’m looking at. That’s why I ask a question. This was horrific. I don’t care what you think about me, a driver got hit intentionally. I didn’t realize who the winner was. From the video I saw it was too close to tell.

The winner, Denny Hamlin didn't bump him, by the way.

The crash looked nasty. Sparks and flames.
