Nah, man, I like some of the guy's music quite a bit, but every time I've seen him on TV or in interviews, he really creeps me out. Man, the more I hear about how ambitious men act, the more glad I am than I was never all that driven. Seems to come with a sense of entitlement that can get really twisted...

ugh is right, that kind of behavior is wrong, and it doesn’t surprise me

however, and I may have missed this, is he being charged with a crime?

if so, we presume innocence until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and we go to court

if there is no court case, then the NYT, out of a sense of outrage at Adams’s behavior, just published a hit piece to kill his career

am I wrong in seeing this piece as wild justice? the Adams/lawyer voice denies criminal behavior, but that’s small beer compared to everything else

looks like #metoo is going to have a rock and roll reckoning

and Adams is a B-list actor compared to the heavies

The only innocence that is being granted is in the eyes of the law.

I wouldn't call it a 'hit piece to kill his career.' To start journalists are not law enforcement nor lawyers. They are - and especially for stories like this in the NYTs - very careful with their facts. If they get something wrong it's the end of their careers and a nasty lawsuit. Additionally, a court case does little more than provide more information, in the end you have to decide if it's enough for you to consider the person guilty of the crime. I'm sure we can all think cases we personally think made the wrong call, on both count. This piece provides evidence some of it solid and some of it one-sided stories, you have to weight it out carefully and make your decision.

Additionally, we have seen that when there is actionable evidence the person does get arrested and brought to court. Based on the article this seems likely to happen to Ryan Adams since he walked right into criminal territory and left evidence.

I don't disagree he's done wrong, please don't misunderstand my comment... But.. They exchanged over 3000 texts, she lied about her age when he asked her directly, so now 5 years later she now wants something done about it.. There will be more stepping forward, there's money to be made.

I've known he was a weasel for years, but I guess I didn't know just how much. Longtime fan of his music too.

So @cnlbb, are you saying we should take as gospel anything printed in the NYT?

what is the point of a story like this? if they believe Adams violated law, the women should file charges and take him to court

if not, then what is newsworthy here? “women allege Adams is a criminal”? “Adams is an a***hole”?

it looks to me like the women and NYT editors believe Adams would not be convicted in a court of law, so they decided to take him down by other means

that said, he sure seems to be this weird mix of being both manipulative and a total chump

the industry is full of sharks, his story is nothing new , if it goes to court and any of this is prooved , he'll have some 'splainin' to do, and it could cost him dearly.

rememeber Micheal Jackson, Bill Cosby, OOH Yeah

If he is innocent , this is wrong , if he is guilty , I will hurt him!

That’s very sad if he was really messing around with underage musicians.

Mandy Moore reported that she was verbally abused by Ryan Adams, when he told her that she ‘wasn’t a real musician because she doesn’t play an instrument.’ I’m not sure what to make of that.
