So I’m in Spokane, and my sister comes up from California to visit with her four kids. Sweet girl, sweet kids. I tell her there’s a nice park to hang out in Idaho, just ten minutes away, for one of her afternoons. Good place for the kids.
So she goes and some dbag and his girl come biking past her. Granted, Post Falls was roaring in the background but she’s pretty sure they called her a ho. She responded with “don’t say ho to me” and they basically flipped birds and kept going. Some people.

I'm not saying it's right but monkeys throw something they make themselves at other monkeys who offer offense to them.

I'll bet it would slow down certain things. At least for a while.

I would need some more context before I could judge this. White noise can really play tricks with a foreground sound. For example, if I have been smoking my cannabis for neuralgia, whenever there is white noise (or approximation thereof), I easily hear foreground sounds that aren't there when I turn the noise off. Air conditioner, noise generator, running water, boiling water pot, etc. As soon as I take a coupla puffs (i.e., "toots" for the older crowd) while white noise is audible in the background, I can hear cops in the parking lot, talk radio, bagpipes, imagined 60s girl group songs, church hymns, bass guitar player working on 4ths, etc.

When I watch TV with CC on, I am amazed at how much I have been mishearing. Since there is a delay of, say, 3-5 seconds between the spoken voice and its closed captioned text, I can test myself on hearing comprehension. It is fascinating how I "hear" what I expect or want to hear (I don't necessarily mean I want to hear only good news). If it were me at the scene, I'd consider the possible visual messages the offenders were sending. Consider that some people look a lot more like they would say "ho" than others. If one of them says "hey!", it wouldn't take too much filtered noise masking to turn that into "ho." Even more dramatic would be if the people appeared to be Swedish. (Leaving this for Mr. Google.)

Now I feel bad for saying that. P.F. is a nice place. But let’s be real.

Geez, I drive through Post Falls every once in awhile. Probably the other person was visiting from N.J.

Now, don't get all puffy, because one of our members apologized for everyone in N.J. in the other thread. Just sayin';)

Maybe they said "welcome to Idaho" and then waved. If that's not what happened, I'm sorry she had to experience that.

Lots of young adults are offended by children. I suspect that was it. So what? Just more examples for kids to not emulate in any way. See? It always works out.

This makes sense if the bike riders were also from Spokane, (or Gresham.)

Was she driving with California plates? That would be my first guess as the citizens of the NW have been long staving off the slow process of Californication for decades. What did former Oregon Governor Tom McCall once opine in the early 70's...just found the quote.

“Come visit us again and again. This is a state of excitement. But for heaven’s sake, don’t come here to live.”

A montage of older clips with Tom saying his piece:

I remember this bumper sticker being a normal accessory for many Oregonians:

    Tom_McCall-a.jpg

It has been spoiled here since the late 90's. Spokane and Boise are the next two victims...actually that Boise has traffic jams a new freeway already shows that Mountain Home and Twin Falls should be concerned. That Bend, OR has a population of about 100,000 is bizarre. In 1990, the Census said it had a bit over 24.000. I live in Portland, and it's simply amazing how many different languages are spoken around here by the huge influx of tourists from all around the world. If you would have told me that Portland would ever have a 35 story Ritz Carlton being constructed, I would laughed. It was all about Rajneeshees when I first moved here.
