So, whilst cleaning (basically staring lovingly and rubbing with a rag) my Postmodern, I noticed that my RSD Bridge is bright-polished in front of the bridge pickup, and has a lightly polished sand blast, behind it. If you have a Tele with the RSD, could you chime in and let me know if this is what yours looks like? Just something that piqued my curiosity. IMG_1054.JPG

This will be correct. All the rectangular (vintage) bridges are like that too. Polished in front of the pickup, and more matt behind.

Wow. Can’t believe I never noticed this on the vintage bridge. Thanks.

Ah, I recently picked up a Tele with a bridge just like this and presumed it was a factory second or something!

Thinking about it I guess the bright polished part in front of the pickup is all you would see with the original ashtray cover on

I really like my Postmodern Telecaster too -some thoughtful enhancements to an already great guitar. I'm currently trying out another bridge (inveterate tinkerer I'm afraid) but can confirm the shiny/non-shiny thing. RSD Jazzmaster bridge included for comparison:

I think those bridges are incredibly cool . I wish they would sell them stand alone. Never been able to catch one from stratospher, which has them from time to time.

Set up a standing search on both Reverb and eBay. They pop up, occasionally, as some don't like anything but vintage square, on their ax. Wouldn't be a bad plan to put up a standing "Wanted" add on sites like this, where possible. Before I got the Postmodern, I used to see them pop up, all the time.

I really like the saddles on the fender ones.
I just think it is cool take on the traditional design.
Thses schroeder bridges are another example of old/new 1520554525202.png
