Mine is a 2003 MIM, not as heavy as the USA or Japan Models. The body is rosewood veneer over alder, not solid rosewood. It has a great vintage tele tone and cost alot less than the other versions. The neck is rosewood oever maple. I'm thinking I might put a solid rosewood neck on it down the road, but for now it ain't broke so...

Dont know if you guys are aware, but check out the Fender website - they have issued a limited edition rosewood fender tele a la Harrison only for 2007. Drooling at the prospect of getting one, but cant afford it. But nice pic of one on the website.

Here's an MIJ. Most of these MIJ Rosewoods have bodies made up of six pieces (seven if you count the maple). Some have better grain matching than others.

Got me a masterbuilt John English Rosewood '68. One piece neck (no skunk or truss plug), maple sandwich and chambered body. ....Interesting to see that Keef pic - other notables who owned and played a Rosey are :- Pop Staples, Steve Cropper and apparently Elvis was given the twin of Harrisons!! Fender made Jimi a Rosewood Strat, but unfortunatley he died before it could be given to him. I would love to know what happened to that!!
