Oh yes! Love me some Rory. He's top 5 for me. His blues style had that little Celtic flair or something. It's hard to put my finger on what it was he did but I love it. Like all the greats, only he sounds like him.

Any advice on the best album of his to listen to? I’ve only ever heard one or two of his songs but would like to know where to start to hear more.

@adamp824 - Rory is best experienced in a live setting, so you won't go far wrong with Irish Tour '74.

The whole album is on utube, apparently:

My favorites are the albums Calling Card (1977 I believe) and Tattoo (1973). Irish Tour is a nice intro...if you don't like it, you probably won't like the rest. That or his Montreux DVD.

You can also give Taste (his first band) a listen, if you can find it. Amazon Music does have some Taste records.

There is also a best of kind of thing called the “Story So Far”. Time span between Deuce and Tattoo.

Rory could beat the sound out of an acoustic resonator! Awesome slide performance
