    I remember when the local AM station would play this at the end of the hour right before the news break. I had no idea then what Rocksteady or Reggae was.

    Have we had the Mighty Diamonds yet? Even non reggae fans might think ‘ ooh I know that song from somewhere...’



    ...and there was a small but rather good movement of British reggae bands in the 1970s putting their own spin on roots music. Aswad later became known for their pop hits, Steel Pulse went off to the American college circuit and Misty in Roots are still out there somewhere. So, a bit of Misty and then the very young Brinsley from Aswad circa 1970 ( okay, it’s not reggae but it makes me smile)...
