Not at all! I'd love to have one. In fact, I'm thinking about getting a CV50 and upgrading it myself, mostly so I can have an inexpensive pinecaster to travel with internationally.
I was just razzin ya. Thats not a bad way to get into the pinecaster club!

My plans are to get a good pine body (and finish it if necessary—though to be honest I'd rather get a pre-finished body), then install an Allparts neck, Kluson tuners, a compensated saddle bridge, a couple of good vintage style pickups (with fewer windings), threaded/stainless steel neck inserts & bolts, an electrosocket jack, bakelite pickguard, and quality pots and switch.

Strat got here! Best guitar Ive ever played or heard live. It belongs on a stage in the hands of a virtuoso. Its clear, real clear and responds to every little nuance but it isnt bright and it cuts, dig in and it sings, play quietly and it just captures everything. Its a really special instrument. Ron built a stradivarius. Will take better pics tomorrow.

Was going to ask about the pups, Im wondering how Ron's HBs are voiced compared to other winders. I bet she sings man, can't wait to get mine.

Yeah I gave lollar the specs and what I was after and they recommended them. I dont know a lot about pickups. The ones Ron made in my strat are really good. The used kirn tele thats coming today is apparently a lower output from the specs on it so Im curious to see what they sound like. Ron knows a thing or two about pickups Id ask him he can probably wind what you want.

Oh I have no doubt that Ron can wind with the best of them. I I was just curious as to others opinions who have actually had a chance to compare them in person.

I heard that Mount Kirn is a slippery slope, and I am definitely starting to understand why. I still have a good 6 or so weeks until my build is finished, and I am already planning my next one.

Wow those are stunners! Even the cat can't believe it. How long did you wait before you started bugging Ron for pictures of your build?

Pictures? I bug Ron about all sorts of things. Pictures is the least of it lol. I owe him about 5 bottles of single malt at this point. I tried to ask him maybe once a week for some pics. Sometimes you gotta ask because he gets working and doesnt stop next thing you know its done. Hes a workaholic!

Red tele came in today. Frets look new. Needs cleaned up a bit. Has a nice setup. Have to see how it sounds. Plays well. 7 lbs. Nice C shaped neck, medium jumbo. A ding and maybe a burn mark on the headstock. Will plug her in after its cleaned up. Crazy how all the Kirn's have a familiar feel and play really well.

Dang, 3 Kirns? That mark looks like it's from a guitar hanger. What color is the tele?
Ah you must be right! It came out when I cleaned it. Wiped it all down and waxed it. Its literally rosso corsa, ferrari red. Its automotive acrylic lacquer w/ a nitro clear coat. Guitar center had it listed as nitro, CAR. Ron gave me the true specs. Sent me a picture of the paint can he used to paint it.
