Oh boy. I must have an extra grand in my bank account somewhere.

Yeah, I got an extra kidney I don't need! But in all honesty, I wouldn't mind paying a couple of hundred to see them- we'll see how things go. I have a feeling the scalpers will make a fortune...

I hate paying hundreds of dollars to see a show in the first place, but when you factor in how difficult it is to actually get any tickets direct and the scalper fees on top of the face value, it seems unlikely that I'll ge to see these guys, much as I'd like to.

Don't worry, they'll be touring well into the next century, kept alive by blood transfusions, muscle memory, and other people's money.

Yawn. JMHO.

+1

That Martin Scorsese Stones movie that came out when Bill Clinton was president, Keef already looked so damn old and IMO he played like crap. I have zero desire to see 70+ year old guys play the same boring tired songs one more time. I'll pass.

Clinton was there because it was a benefit for his Clinton Foundation, but the show was shot in late 2006 and the film was released in 2008, late in Bush II's second term.

I'm not a fan of the film. I agree that the playing wasn't great, but I think that a large part of the problem was that they were thrown into the show mid-tour, adding a bunch of new tunes to the set with little time to prepare.

I think Richards was overindulging in alcohol at times during the Bigger Bang tour and Ronnie did one of his many stints in rehab in June 2006, but I've seen video of very good shows from that tour.

I've seen videos of several of the concerts the Stones did last fall, and the band sounded great (he least good show was probably the PPV), especially Jagger. Anyone who says he's lost it... Let's just say that I don't have respect for their judgment.

Richards and Wood seemed a little subdued during the performances, and there was something different about Jagger -- he seemed more open and appreciative. For many years, no matter how good a job he did fronting the Stones, one sensed he felt a lingering bitterness that he couldn't score big outside the band. But now it seems like he can hear the clock ticking down and he truly appreciates the opportunity to play every last show with his band.

I also suspect -- and this is based on nothing but my own thoughts -- that Charlie Watts has told him this is the last tour he can and will do. Even if that is the case, I don't think the band would announce it. Jagger hates farewell tour talk.

Huge fan but I won't even attempt to see them. I know why they're doing it, because they can. whatever, go for it if you still have the desire and energy.

I'll go, if I can get a ticket for a decent price. The reason Keith was not playing well around the time of the Scorsese movie was because he was recovering from that fall out of the coconut tree. Watch some recent videos. He's back.

I should go just because I've never seen them, but it's highly unlikely I actually will.

^^^^ what's your source, Doster?

the tour dates will probably look similar to that but it's still only useless rumours when it's not officially announced.
patience - announcement is only half a day away.
