Anyone here ever run a Roland Cube amp on a Honda inverter generator?
A Roland Cube will not serve as a Honda generator.
I've run an entire band on one. But no not a Cube. But real amps work fine.
Inverter generators have really stable voltage output, and Honda is a good one. Like schmee, I've run an entire band and PA on a Honda 6500 with no problems at all.
So, yeah. It will work fine so long as you keep the load on the generator beneath its rated amperage...and a Roland amp will draw nowhere near that.
“A Roland Cube will not serve as a Honda generator.”
Ahh, but will a Honda generator serve as a Roland Cube?
Thanks everybody. Craigslist deal on a Micro tomorrow for comparisons to earlier solid state portables here
(in the on-going research project) and the guy also has a 15 watt Cube - which I might also test / acquire
(using a Honda EU2200i to test). Always need one more amp.
AND then… there’s also a Pygmy amp, out on the left coast.
Honestly, no more portable amps here after the end of this year!
Good to hear that! Here's my most non-portable amp: 1968 Drip Edge Twin Reverb.
Nice Twin. Love to have one but alas, no not yet. Maybe when I grow up?
This is where I should be posting that concept image of the Honda generator,
a Rock Amps - Petros 1 amp and my favorite Tele in a little red wagon…
as my portable mobile unit.
It’ll happen, eventually.
If you're talking micro-cube, you would never believe how long it lasts on a set of AA batteries. I get around a year out of them but only use the amp a few times a week.
Probably a good idea to bring a spare large can of fuel and a fuse.
