December 24th, 44 degrees, managed to put a quick twenty-five break-in miles on Trixie's new Kawasaki 650 this afternoon.

We need some better pictures of the bike. In South Dakota staying without snow probably won’t last long.

That's my idea of a good winter road.....smooth, good eyelines, empty- no salt:cool: Cool!

It comes and it goes here in the extreme Western end of the state, so we can usually get some riding miles in during December, January, and February. Last year was an exception, damn near as bad as a Minnesota winter, but that's not usually the case here.

The bike...a 2019 Kawasaki Z650. Trixie bought it several weeks ago to serve as her work commuter 'mule' next year, but it's going to prove to be much more useful than just that. It's a 68hp, liquid-cooled vertical twin, six speed, about 410 lbs 'wet'. Should be a lot of fun.

Never understood motorcycle commuting, unless ya drive a hummer they get relatively bad milage compaired to the 3000lb cage. Shes doin it fer fun,..c'mon...
Guess 44 is a warm day for u cats.

I get 45 mph on the Duc, but a consistent 48 in the VW. A warm 48!

Nice bike but it looks like you're holding a cellphone and taking pictures while cruising down the road (and around curves). Kind of not the safest thing to do imho. Glad you made it home though!
