Damn, that finish is amazing, this is easily one of my favourite builds, challenge or no challenge. That pickup cover too, ah man, envy.

Happily the knobs for my little dirt box arrived, better late than never, and because the lacquer seems ok for the final steps I decided to install everything today. It's based on a Distortion+ circuit, so nothing special. I'm waiting that the sun comes out again to take a pic of the finished box...

But first a shot of the guts

Can't wait to plug it in :D

Nice tidy wiring. Mine usually get a little scary inside.

    getting nervous

I only need to adjust the pickup a little bit. But where the heck is the back plate that I already made a couple of weeks ago?? It's nowhere to be found...

    Let's see;

    black body - check
    one pickup - check
maple neck with ebony fingerboard - check
    fingerboard without inlay - check
    black headstock - check

Yes. This must be it. My dream telecaster. Absolute gorgeous!

And for your craftsmanship, sir. I take my hat off. Just beautifull.

You don't really plan to use the foot to switch this on and off, are you? At a minimum you have to take the shoes off.

Thanks. I always try to keep the cables as short as possible. I had a little discussion with the soldering iron during the assembly (I didn't win  ), but in the end I soldered everything together without burning down the box. ;)

Hmmm, too late to start? No thanks, 2 months of nearly non stop guitar building was enough, I'm happy that I'm done with the guitar

    Thanks guys!

Thanks Marco. Yes it's really - well - blacker than black :cool:

Ok, I'll attach a little 'Caution! Shoes off' sticker on top of it!

Thanks guys. I'm happy that everything fits well together. I hope to have the video and pics done by the end of the week.

Hey guys, what a good day today. I found the missing back plate again, it needed a little bit extra sanding on the sides to fit, but this was really the last part, phew! So I'm uploading a few pics of the finished guitar now, I can't believe that it's really done. I'm waiting for better weather for some outdoor pics, but first a few shots straight from the couch. (Sadly the burst is very hard to catch it in the pics.) More to come...
