Doing this for the second time -- it's fun. The idea is that you put your name in a hat & get assigned to a band with a bunch of musicians you don't usually play with & you have 6 weeks to develop a 25 minute set. Last time the songs had to be from an assigned album -- the Bodyguard soundtrack! -- but this time it's from a decade. Level of ability & experience is wildly variable. But the project is fun & challenging & a good way to expose yourself to musicians & styles of music you wouldn't otherwise know. Final performance is a 4-hour extravaganza. Everybody plays, everybody drinks, somebody wins. Rock Lotto 4ever! Does this happen where you live? Or is this just a by-product of a long cold mountain winter?
