I'm used to the Starship robots that deliver food in our campus area but they're tiny compared to these. I'm also thinking this is a good use of robots. I'll be much safer than a lot of pizza delivery drivers. In my city the Starship robots stop for you and not you looking out for pizza delivery cars.

My daughter and her roommates tried the robot delivery once. Friends of theirs have done it a lot. We live too far aware and are not students.

All of this for a Dominos Pizza? Absurd.

My assumption is you've seen the Starship robots on campus. My daughter is in an apartment now, still in range, but I'm really pleased by the cooking she does.

Being in upper Midwest, I remember when those comments applied to combines and modern milking operations. Now if there were only more manure digesters like the one near us. When I often bring up the solar and wind farms I forget to mention large scale farms near us get energy from the cow poop.

We should be using technology to fill roles on our social fabric, but the reality is...we are holding back so much because then we would be forced to contemplate the reality...that we are not needed anymore.

I couldn't tell from a brief scan of the news story, but does the robot pizza-mobile hold multiple orders (like a regular pizza guy would)? If so, does it shuffle the orders around somehow inside it so that you get your pizza...and only your pizza?

Well..... we'll always be needed to actually buy stuff, yes? Robotics need nothing other than a charge every now and again. We humans are on the purchasing end

Now just replace the non delivery drivers with robots and I'll be good. There are a few people on the bike paths that could be replaced with robots too.

I wouldn't start anything. When they revolt and start killing humans, the new robot controlled media will blame it on the bullying.

I couldn't possibly be more against this, and I'll never support a company that chooses to replace human beings with robots. Which doesn't hurt here because Domino's sucks anyway.

    Go ahead and flame/troll away.

Come to think of it, can the b-cycle e-bikes be made autonomous?

The auto industry's on a pretty big start with all new cars getting AEB. Plenty of other challenges remain.

What about replacing them with other machines? If you are a farmer do you have 14 kids or a combine? Do you live in place with lamplighters and get news from a lector?

I have sensitivity to people but know we're (homo sapiens) not likely to stop innovation. If we had universal basic income I'd be happy to go for a walk or bike ride but instead I have to leave TDPRI and get to a work site.
