That is going to be great. I have listened to him a lot recently. Looking forward.

And such a great Tele-player. The sound he gets from his SG is great as well. However, it does not really remind me much of any SG I have heard or played before.

That’s good news. I like Robben as a guitarist but not so much as a singer, so this should be enjoyable.

I think his singing improved over his early stuff. His vocals probably peaked with Supernatural, Truth, Handful of Blues, etc.
Years of touring have taken its toll on Robben. I was surprised at how much he’s aged. He should ask Keef his secrets to reversing the process.

I’ve never thought his singing is bad, it just seems like he sings only because it’s harder to sell records or get on the radio if there’s no singing. But I guess now that people have pretty much quit buying music the pressure to sing isn’t there.

I never hear Robben played n the radio. I doubt many folks outside of blues fans know who he is.

Not on the big commercial stations, but he gets played on blues shows on college and community radio stations.

But even among the blues audience, instrumental albums have always been a harder sell.

He's one of those folks who looks like a kid for nearly all of his life, then hits a point where he looks his age. Same with Leo Kottke. Same with me.
