May sound like a potential band name but we’re talking fishing here lol.

I’m an outdoors guy and was raised that way it will always be one of my first loves. My uncle has some land and a pond and made us work before we got to play growing up. After countless hours of mowing, weed eating, helping the neighbor bale hay, pick up sticks ect he’d cut us loose for fun time and he taught us to shoot and fish.

Fishing is something I’ve kinda neglected the last handful of years like hunting. That said I’ve been hitting it hard the last month and a half since the weather has broke. I’ve fished more in this time frame than I have in a collective handful of years. Safe to say I’ve been enjoying one of my old loves and having a blast. I’m not out setting records but kicking back, relaxing and have got some dinner here and there when I’ve felt like cleaning them. Been getting skunked for the most part everywhere I go but I’m not the only one so far this year but there’s more summer to go!

Mainly I’m after catfish and crappie, the crappie have been a bust so far. Most of the catfish I’ve caught have had a full gut so they go back in.

Time spent fishing is not deducted from a man's lifetime..........or so they say. A dedicated bass chaser since childhood, I now live on the coast and pursue the wary speckled trout and the mighty redfish in the backwater marshes. One of life's finer moments is a sunrise on the water.
