Grew up on songs by "The Storyteller."
Many favorites. This is one.
Rest In Peace .
He wrote this:
When I was in my teens my dad carted me around to some local bars to sing this song (among a few others). Always thought this was a great song and still do.
I remember that was a HUGE hit. I had no idea (at the time) that Tom T wrote it. (I tended to think back then that whoever sang a song also wrote it---hey, I was a kid!)
Tom T. Hall was a songwriter my mom and dad (and uncle Richard) thought was great and I did too. Looking bad, there weren't a lot of songwriters that they loved and I loved too.
Rest in peace.
Joe Ely posted this pic of himself, Tom T, and Stubb (C.B. Stubbelfield) on his FB page.
Stubb had a BBQ place in Lubbock. Joe said he nailed down the curtains to stop people from wiping their greasy fingers on 'em.
Faster Horses !!! RIP to one of the last great storytelling songwriters.
I don't believe in death period.
I believe Stubb & Tom T & Clayton Delaney are all still with us.
Our bodies are what have an Expiration
Date is all.
I just know him from Chevy truck ads.
That's a fun song.
My best friend's Dad was a Tom T Hall fan to the Hilt!
He had several of his Eight Track Tapes in his cars.
Rest well Mr Hall.
Been singing Faster Horses as long as I can remember...
To this day, I use Stubb's Barbeque sauces more than any other.
Stubb's Original and Stubb's Spicy are my favorite.
I just made some barbeque chicken using the original, this very evening.
Good run, sir. RIP
My tribute back in May:
I've never had Stubb's BBQ sauce. I'll have to try some.
