Brian Henneman is retiring. I have been a fan since the beginning and have loved every minute of it. Perhaps the band will carry on in some form, but it is hard for me to imagine them without that voice and that guitar. Here is a link to their website and his official statement.

Good for him. I hope the rest of the band starts something new and great. I like the Bottlerockets a lot.

"Maybe I’ll see ya at Home Depot or somethin’…" That's a great signoff!

Or Tractor Supply. That's where I discovered them.

I didn't know they were still together. Interesting. I didn't know you could retire from music. At least folks on this forum say you can't. But apparently you can. It makes sense. It's work like every other job.

Good for Brian quitting on his terms. I didn't know who they were 'til I read a thread here on the TDPRI and for that I'm grateful.

Radar Gun got a lot of play on the local rock station when I was a kid. What a great tune.

Great band and some great dudes.

I, too, am glad he can walk on his terms. It’s not exactly a career with a matched pension plan.

It’d be selfish to expect him to continue something he no longer wants to do just because we want it.

Dang, but good for him. Now he'll have time to work on that thousand dollar car.

    I wish him well.

My favorite tune of theirs was their contribution to "Rig Rock Deluxe".

"Sometimes I look in the windows..."

Of course I thought this was a thread about bottle rockets going the way of lawn darts. . . .

Sad post, but not all that surprising, I understand how he felt, I've had the same feelings....I wish him well, here's a favorite of mine, Brian's ode to a " Fender Telecaster and a Vibro Champ....

    Adios amigo....
And from their tribute to Sir Doug Sahm..."Songs Of Sahm"

ps, hope Brian's found the perfect p-90!!!
