Here's Rusty's tour de force, where he play multiple instruments, which closes out the Under the Gun album

And, this one closes out the Indian Summer album

Had not heard this song in many years- boy, Poco's vocals were always so strong and just beautiful, any version of the band

I'm so sorry to hear of Rusty's passing. I've always been a huge fan of Poco and especially of Rusty's amazing pedal steel playing. RIP

RIP. I'm another guy who saw Poco live when they were young but already great band. Such good songs and performances.

RIP Rusty. I went and bought Pickin' Up The Pieces as soon as I heard it on the radio...probably in 8-track. Grand Junction always made my hand crank the volume up!

    Oh no!!
His work on those albums was the glue. I’d include “Head Over Heels” as well. He brought so much joy to my life, especially his pedal steel on “Early Times”, “Ride The Country” and “Good Feeling To Know” which is simply majestic, soaring, other-worldly. I remember where I was the first time I heard those and it took me somewhere far better.
    Rest In Peace.

There are no keyboards in the band. Whenever you hear what sounds like a Hammond organ here, it's Rusty playing pedal steel through a Leslie.
