RIP to the great blue-eyed-soul, rockabilly, psychedelic rock and country star.
So sad to hear this. My R&B band covered "Treat Her Right" when I was in HS, circa the late '60s. Roy was a great performer. Very cool and unique James Brown influenced dance moves. But he had his own style which you can see in the video. His son has had some success in the music field as well. RIP, Roy.
I saw Roy back in the 70's at a club in Memphis, think it was good just too messed up at the time to remember
Aww, sad news. Roy had a look and a sound that was different. Great song!
George Thorogood covered this tune for a record and often played it at his shows.
RIP, Roy. Thanks for the music. And thanks for the advice at a time I needed it.
Rest easy, Mr Head...
I remember seeing him on TV a few times.....always thought he was a white James Brown......incredible energy and moves. Did he ever have any other hits?
Big tune from my youth. RIP, Roy.
Roy and The Traits played at my high school senior prom, they were well known regionally then. Over the summer, Treat Her Right was released and suddenly they were nationally known.
Roy last year.
He was a showman!
