The man has stolen countless hours of my life, for both good, and bad reasons. Loved most of his films, especially in my youth. 98 years is a pretty good run. R.I.P.
I always loved Battle Beyond the Stars which is a perfect Star Wars/Magnificent Seven rip off.
The list of filmmakers and actors who got their start working for Corman is a true who's who of Hollywood over the last 60 years. More than his films, I think that will be his greatest legacy.
I got to see Corman interviewed on stage by Victoria Price, Vincent's daughter, several years ago at a film festival. Both of them had fantastic stories to tell. Corman may have been "the king of schlock," but what magnificent schlock it was. My life might have followed a completely different path if I hadn't grown up watching his movies.
