It's alongside The Godfather as the greatest mob movie ever made. The Godfather treated the mafia as 20th century Roman senators; Goodfellas portrayed them as down-to-earth everyday working guys who occasionally had to bury a body in North Jersey.

As a proper baseball fanatic, I've sent the commissioner a handwritten note on opening day, every year since about 1996, demanding that Shoeless Joe be reinstated. Haven't heard a word yet, but I keep the faith...because of Ray Liotta. He brought the man to life. Field of Dreams will forever be a favorite of mine, and it wouldn't have been the same without him. Sad news.

Never seen Goodfellas, but I've seen him in Field of Dreams. He was my age, why did he suddenly die? On the other hand, you can be nine or ten years old years old and die suddenly. RIP
