Nickadermis (Eric R. Jamison) died on January 16, 2020, having endured pancreatic cancer for a couple of years. He was 54, single and had no children, though he was close to his extended family. About a year ago, he was willing to drive 50 miles to meet William Tele and me for breakfast in Kansas City, at an ungodly early hour, after I had dropped my wife off at the airport. Though he didn’t mention it in detail then, he later told me that he had barely escaped death a few months previous, but that his participation in a clinical trial of a new drug seemed to have extended his life. Eric carried on a family construction business of designing and building greenhouses for institutional clients, primarily schools and colleges, all over the US. He was a wonderful person, and I will regret that I didn’t spend more time with him.
