He was a legitimate home run king. No doping there. 86 years old. When he was on track to smash Babe Ruth's home run record, he got a lot of hate mail. Some letters included people threatening to kidnap his kids.

When Bonds was nearing the record, I saw a sign someone had made saying...

Ruth did it with Hot Dogs
    Aaron did it with class
    Bonds did it with drugs

So long, Henry. You were definitely a class act.

you guys realize...steroids wont make your baseball skills better or your hand eye coordination better...wont make you run faster...steroids help you recover from workouts faster to get back in the gym which in turn makes muscle growth occur faster...steroids do not improve your talent...you get that from your genetics

my only problem with bonds is the cover up he tried when his steroids investigation was happening

RIP henry...great guy and great player

Death threats too! R.I.P. There were a lot of people who didn't want a Black man to break Babe's record. I'm glad he did! Could not have happened to a better man! The true home run king!

The real HR king. Bonds stats should be erased from the record books. Steroids do improve 'quick twitch' muscle reaction and hand-eye coordination - and that's the creator of 'the clear' (the particular steroid Bonds took) stating those facts.

Aaron never hit more that 47 HRs but was so consistent for so long. Another piece of our childhood gone.

My family was far from progressive, and we weren't really baseball fans, but HR 715 is something I'll never forget watching on television. We all cheered, and that night made me want to find out more about him and read about his life. So much more to say about him than baseball.

Huge loss, especially here in Atlanta where Aaron was a true pillar of the community.

RIP Hammerin' Hank, you'll always be my home run king!

I liked what Ali said. Something along the lines of only idolizing Henry Aaron over himself.

When I meet young kids, and don't they all love sports, I commend them to the life and lifestyle of Henry Aaron. Follow this incredible man's lead, young people, and you will never have a single regret. Mr. Henry Aaron is right at the heart of why I love America.

I’m hesitant to elevate any human being too high but it’s hard to imagine a sporting legend of the future possessed of such a degree of dignity. May we always remember him fondly.
