Ed made some seriously good sounding records.
Yeah, one of my heroes. He was a part of a lot of really great music. Straight ahead mixer.
I’m sorry to hear this.
He did great work.
I first became aware of him through his work with Jann Arden.
I played on the Jann Arden record Ed produced (fretless bass, everybody except her - brilliant, Jann is just brilliant - stoned on every track, staring across the room at Jim Keltner, scared out of my mind)), as a well as a few others.
He was one of the coolest guys I ever met. Funny, warm, brilliant.
Everything worthwhile I know about engineering and making music happen in a studio I learned from watching and talking with Ed.
It's been a hard week.
I saw Jann Arden a couple of times when I lived in Canada, and I’m a huge fan.
She is a great entertainer, as well as brilliant artist.
She mentioned Ed in her show.
She mentioned that Ed would call her “Joan”.
I’m glad they worked so well together.
Again, RIP brother.
Yeah, she is a great woman. I haven't seen her in years, but those two weeks were some of the best times I ever had in a studio. She was absolutely hilarious, different characters coming at you through the headphones, just great.
I was the rookie - not used to smoking Serious Pot and recording - playing with heroes, and Ed and Jann always made me feel comfortable.
I’m beyond jealous!
