You're thinking from the perspective of the seller. Sure, he didn't overprice, because it sold promptly.
But from a buyer's perspective, if there's an equal item readily available for much less (as many believe), then it's overpriced.
Why the discrepancy? Because shoppers are often irrational, and are willing to climb all over each other to get the chance to overpay for a name. Especially if there's a perception of scarcity.
I've liked Mark Jenny's guitars for years- ever considered his. Hahn also.
A Hahn is a young man's game. Because he builds so slow you will be an old man before you get your guitar. Apparently fine guitars though.
