    RIP Dan.

    He got his Paycheck today.
Now he's off to the home of happy feet for a Harvey Wall-banger.

Oh man. Loved his stuff. Did "How can I miss you..." too, way back. Might have to dredge that one back for some memories. RIP Mr Hicks and thanks for the music.

I covered a number of his songs back in the 70's- 80's in a trio with two women.

    It always went over well!!

    Thaaaaaanks... Dan.

Loved Dan Hicks. Loved the Hot Licks and Acoustic Warriors. Didn't even know he was sick. Saw some adverts for him in concert locally a couple months ago. R.I.P. Dan.

    My wife's Facebook post:

They say that, as little girls, we all have dreams. To be a bride? an astronaut? president? Not me. When I stop to remember, I really believed that someday I would be a backup singer. A latter-day Ronette.
I spent a great deal of time singing the alto part in this iconic song. And also everything else on a few of the Dan Hicks albums. The Hot Licks. How can you beat that? RIP, Dan Hicks. I will never forget you.

RIP Dan Hicks. There's really no one to compare him too. He was one of a kind. His first several albums are absolute classics.

"It's Not My Time To Go" could be a fitting epitaph.

Yes, too many greats dying lately.
