I mean..the level of skill and attention to detail here is just insane.
Earnest Warther, Dover Ohio. I met him twice when I went to his workshop (before the museum existed) with my cub scout pack. He is referred to in all publications as Earnest "Moony" Warther. He seemed like a great guy to everyone who I new that met him.
My Dad assured me that his actual nick name in the community was Looney Warther. This seems consistent with what I know about his fellow small town inhabitants and there tolerance and charitable instincts for different sorts of folks.
He was once on the Today Show in the 1960s.
That's pretty sweet!
That’s hilarious. I’m lucky if I can make a pointy stick.
Ooh - I've been there! It is sooooo worth the trip if you are in the area! We even bought some of the knives they make there.
Wow!!! That’s freaking incredible
A donated carving to the National Bison Range near us:
Back in the 90s for about five or six years I was paid to record the Tuscarawas Philharmonic twice a year during their performance at the old Dover High School. ( two mics> DAT) Submitting the recordings was necessary to get their grant every year. Every time I went to Dover I would stop at the Warther Museum and buy one knife. Now I have a very nice set. The are first rate cutlery.
