I finally found a deal on the Rickenbacker I knew I wanted, but didn’t think I’d ever find. It’s a 660/12 in Ruby Red. I’ve never owned an electric 12-string before, and was afraid I would not play it often. But I honestly haven’t been able to put it down. It plays/sounds great! The wider neck is perfect for me. I’m a Taylor player, so the neck width of the 660 feels right at home. And I also play mandolin, so I’m quite used to the double course strings. It’s truly a beautiful guitar, and I’m so happy to have it. Definitely a keeper.

Glad that you found one and like it. I have tried most of the other Rick 12s and cannot get on with the narrow neck. I have a 650S and like the shape and layout of the 600 series, so the 660/12 would probably be the answer for me, but they a few and far between in the UK, and too expensive to think about importing when I have never tried one. For now I will make do with a Burns Double Six which has an even wider neck. Enjoy your 660.

I don't use mine any more. It's not as versatile as my Tele even tho it has a great sound. I'm not in the habit of taking two guitars to gigs. In fact, come summer time I'll probably sell it.

Oooh I’m in on this one. Ric’s are my second favorite after Tele’s. Here is my brand spanking new Mapleglo 360. I’d like a 330 12 in Fireglo too.

Oh my! Did Rickenbacker go back to 21 fret necks on the 330s and 360s (from the 24 that they’ve had from about 1970)? If so that is a welcome change that I thought would never happen. They look so much better with the neck pickup aligned with the edge of the body. And many prefer the tone too. That’s the way they were meant to be.

EDIT: I’m looking at others listed on Reverb and yes! 21 frets are back. Wow.

Now I have to be in the market for a semi hollow again. I’ve been playing the 600 series, in part because of the 21 fret necks.

Yes, 21 fret necks was the revelation from this year's NAMM show. Probably has something to do with Ben Hall running the place now.

This one came a few days ago. I've always been interested in the 460; it was a deluxe solidbody, but Rickenbacker already had a deluxe solidbody in the 625. So aside from the fret markers and binding, the only functional difference from the 450 was the 5th knob. Even the price wasn't much higher. They didn't sell many, and it amazes me that they kept it on the price list for over a decade. But it sounds just as cool as it looks:
