Yes. Let Rockford have something.
Stax? Marion AK?
one thing I've already learned from this series: Chris Shiflett is one hell of a guitar player.
The thought of the bad brains as a backing band is really weird to me.
Aw hell - I have no idea why I thought they were from Wisconsin; I'm sure I used to know they were from Rockford.
Tells you how long it's been since I've really listened to them - when was "She's Tight" out as a single - 82/83? I saw them on that tour (when Petersson was out of the band for a while).
They did the theme from That 70's Show, which was set in Wisconsin, so maybe that is why.
By all accounts the Foo Fighters are a terrific bunch of guys to work with and work for
But I thoroughly dislike their music
And they spent a lot of time in Chicago, had a crash pad in Old Town...
I think you're right - although I never really watched that show. I guess somewhere "Rockford" became "Racine" in my mind.
I had no idea this was a series when I first saw it on the schedule. Thanks for posting I am watching this now (the Chicago episode) and it's just fascinating and really well done. Fantastic. Anyone with an interest in music and music history in America should love this.
Love Cheap Trick. Great songs. Great albums. Great sound. Great approach. There's a big difference between melding riffs and crafting a song. Think Rush vs. Marshall Crenshaw. Same with Foo Fighters vs. Cheap Trick.
I believe the non-tele baritone that Nielson played on the HBO show was an Electrical Guitar Company 500 model, for those that were curious.
Dave has got it down (became pretty darn good at making music documentaries) with Sound City
I think Nashville has been my favorite episode ... especially the Polk Salad Annie part - Austin is also epic
Welcome to TDPRI ... I guess you're right ... I thought it was Steve's TB 500
Regarding Dave's band ... I sure like this one
... and regarding the drummer, they don't get much better than that
I saw them live at a KROQ breakfast. Good band. Entertaining as hell and that one song isn't indicative of their whole line of work.
That baritone is way cool. Wish he got to solo it more. It's on my Santa list. I like the PG too!
What's a foo and why do they fight them?
