He also did a very nice interview on "Rockonteurs" with Guy Pratt and Gary Kemp

(for those who don't know: Guy was playing bass with him for longer than Roger Waters :D )

I've just noticed that a patch of his mustache is oddly missing in both videos and in others I've just checked. What's the story?

I hope I get a little further into the videos and have something more interesting to say!

Editing to add that I've just Googled gilmour + mustache and found a thread from yesterday on a gear-oriented forum in which the OP asks the same question. Not that it's an important question, but it's gone unanswered among five pages of nitwits attacking each other. I hope this place never falls into that kind of nitwittery!

Definitely was asking about the new album and not much else. I wonder if that’s how he got the interview?
Seems logical. I’m not saying it’s likely because I don’t know enough about either one.

Tiny theoretical gain and massive potential loss for big-name stars, and vice versa for interviewers.

Presumably it followed Godwin's law and culminated in someone mentioning the Toothbrush moustache.
Nothing like that in the bit I saw, although it wouldn't have surprised me much, given the way things are on most social media. I imagine most of you here probably know of the forum, but I'm not going to name it, just to avoid the stank. The climate there might not be as bad as it seemed to me.

Interesting that Gilmore states that he normally plays an acoustic guitar, at home, and doesn't touch an electric guitar for months.

I've read, recently, that Clapton said the same thing.

Convenience, age... or ???

imo.

That's usually the case with stars. They are available for interviews when they have something to promote. There are often rules for journalists about what topics they may and may not ask about.

Same with Keef: “It all starts on the acoustic”. He does all his writing starting there.

It was interesting to hear him talk about how he works. I bought the album a few weeks ago after seeing some friends give it bad reviews. I like it.

It seemed odd seeing Polly's face reflected in the glass behind Gilmour for much of the interview.
Her face kept drawing my attention, I thought I was being a little crazy, glad I wasn't the only one. Great interview nonetheless, and we got the Shine On chord - I always played that in the first position, so almost 50 years later I learned the right way haha
