Well it has been down in the 40s and 50s here so I am feeling the cold outside. I decided to make some old homey food. Franks and beans with hot bread...........oh yeah. It's a simmering right now. I know that isn't cold for many of you but for me I need some heat.

Little-known fact is that already in his youth dented was known as "Dave Downwind"

Yeah, but without the beans it would just be weiner soup. That sounds terrible to me. I heard an interview with Michael Keaton many years ago where he affirmed that weenie soup, made with catsup, was a childhood favorite. Appalling.

The lady who often sings with me talks about Campbell's Tomato Soup, made with water instead of milk, and Cheerios instead of saltine crackers. Yum...Eccchhh...

It's going to be around 8 degrees in the next few days. And might break 25 or 30, if we're lucky.

My traditional New Years Day feast is a big pot of ham and Great Northern beans. Topped with a southwest style cornbread.

The ham is from the left over glazed ham from Christmas dinner.

Been doing that for the last 30 or 40 years.

The sheets will be flapping to bring in 2019. Sweet music.:D

We ate that a lot when I was in the Army. My wife always diced an onion in hers. Good eats!

My cold weather chow yesterday (and for the next couple of days) is charro beans, except with black eyed peas instead of pinto beans.
Pretty good actually but they may be a little strange in tacos.

My quick and easy is the big Costco hotdog and whatever chili is handi. Canned or home grown chili, hot dogs, toasted bun. I’m a happy camper.
