My next pedal will be a delay pedal. I'm thinking of the TC Electronic Flashback or (less so) the EHX Memory Man with the Hazarai thingy. Any suggestions? I hasten to add that my budget is rather limited...

The TCE Flashback's great. Check out the following too:

    Strymon Timeline (not budget friendly)
    Line6 DL4 (not budget friendly)
    Boss DD20

I like each of them for different reasons.

Other great delays (without reverse afaik)

    MXR Carbon Copy
Earthquaker Devices Disaster Transport (3 different versions)
    Malekko Ekko 616

Just got a Flashback. The loop feature is what I really wanted, without wanting a real full featured looper. All the delays sound great. And I think it's really cool how I can beam Toneprints through my iPhone and guitar pickup! I think I'll be selling my Memory Boy.

As for the limited budget, Sweetwater is doing 18 month interest free on TC stuff right now.

What about the Boss DD-7? I've heard good things about it and it has reverse delay.

Had a memory man with hazarai and sold it as there was a signal drop with the pedal turned on. Worked great otherwise but couldn't deal with the volume drop.

I have the TC Flashback , and If you're thinking of going that direction I would really give one a good tryout in the store if you can. The reverse delay is a little touchy for my liking and needs to be set "just right" to get something useable (imho).

    Good luck with your search.

Much thanks to all for the input. My heart is aching more and more for the Flashback...

I do love my DD-20. The ability to store 4 presets is very handy and all the sounds are very usable.

Hardwire DL-8 is very reasonably priced and useable.

MXR Carbon Copy could be had used very reasonably as well. It is a dark pedal, which is perfect for your standard delay trails behind your clean source signal
